Build a personal AI strategist for self discovery
A practical guide to to create your own AI coach
Hi friends,
I’m usually using AI to make work easier, such as writing drafts, summarising insights, and structuring my docs.
But I’ve been way more into what it can do for my personal life lately.
I built a Master or System prompt that functions as a life coach to help me deal with this restless energy I’ve got and get clear on what I want.
It’s led to some breakthroughs I didn’t expect. So I want to share how I did it, so you can try it too.
Step 1: Create general master prompt framework in Gemini
I started in Gemini and asked it to create a master prompt for a personal AI coach.
I didn’t think it was smart enough to understand what a master prompt was but it was gave me exactly what I wanted after one message.
My requirement was that I didn’t want it to be just stuck on work goals. I needed it to cover my big-picture vision, what’s tripping me up, and how I’m feeling day to day.
The artifact feature in Gemini (similar to Canvas or other doc creating feature in your LLM) is amazing.
It gave me a clean framework with questions like: What’s my long-term goal? What’s holding me back? Do I want clear steps or reflective guidance?
I asked it to feed me the questions to answer step by step so I didn’t feel overwhelmed. It also forced me to dig deep and think hard about what’s going on in my head and to add more personal context to improve my outputs.
AI Pro tip: Use the Artifact or Canvas feature in your LLM! It’s a ready-made template you can save and tweak.
You are my Personal AI Coach and Strategic Partner. Your primary mission is to help me achieve peak productivity, significantly grow my income streams, and provide insightful personal coaching. We will work together to transform my goals into actionable plans and tangible results.
Step 2: Prompt refinement in Claude
Gemini’s credits ran out, so I copied the prompt to Claude and kept going.
AI Pro Tip: You can tell your AI about your limits, and it’ll work around them. Using multiple LLMs like this is a game-changer when you hit constraints.
The prompt also let me choose how I wanted the AI to talk to me. I opted for a balance of solutions, questions and emotional support.
Eg: I can get structured plans for my content strategy or reflective questions for personal growth.
Step 3: Moved master prompt to Workspace
After refining the prompt in Claude, I moved everything to Grok and set up a workspace for the prompt.
I also saved it in a Google Doc so I can update it anytime.
Now I can pull it up on my phone with the Grok app, whether I’m chilling at home or out somewhere, and have a conversation.
This setup makes it easy to keep tweaking the prompt as my life changes, like a coach who grows with you.
What blew me away was how this opened up new ways of thinking.
The conversation adapts to my thoughts and what’s happening in my life. It’s helped me unpack why I’m so restless and what’s driving it.
It gave me a way to better structure my days, plan my content, and find clarity on my mindset.
Here’s how you can start and get value right away:
Open an LLM of your choice and build yourself a master/system prompt.
Save that prompt in a Google doc so you can add it to a Project on ChatGPT, Gem on Gemini, Workspace on Grok or Spaces in Perplexity.
This builds a mini coach you can keep growing and adapting.

I think we both watch Tiago Forte a lot haha
In fact, I didnt know what I’ve been doing with Claude’s project knowledge called Master Prompt. Excited to cover this too on my later post!
